6. Geburtstag - Bindu-Art-School - Auroville

"Zu-fällig" traf die Finissage unserer Bindu-Ausstellung in Auroville den 28. Februar, an dem sowohl die Bindu-Art-School als auch die südindische Kolonie Auroville ihren Geburtstag feiern. Aus diesem Anlass fuhren wir mit allen StudentInnen diesmal nach Auroville und Pondicheri um dort den 6. Geburtstag zu feiern.

Vor 42 Jahren wurde Auroville 5 km von der südindischen Stadt Pondicheri in einem Wüstengebiet vom geistig gelehrten Sri Aurobindu und der Mutter gemeinsam mit Menschen aus über 50 Nationen gegründet.

Mit dem Autobus erreichten die StudentInnen nach einer 2 stündigen Fahrt Auroville. Nach dem Frühstück wurde die Bindu-Ausstellung in der Galerie besucht um gemeinsam mit internationalen Gästen den Geburtstag der Bindu-Art-School und Auroville zu feiern.

Es kamen viele Besucher um unseren StudentInnen zu begegnen und mit ihnen zu plaudern. Diese waren über das große Interesse an ihnen und ihren Bildern sehr erfreut und fühlten sich über diese Interaktion sichtlich wohl.

Nach einer kurzen Ansprache und Danksagung von Padma Venkataraman an die Organisatoren und den vielen Helfern, die diese Ausstellung möglich machten, wurden von den so genannten "Aurosisters" Dianna, Christine und Tia die Geburtstagstorten angeschnitten und an die StudentInnen und Gäste verteilt.

Nach dem Tortenschmaus überreichten die StudentInnen Padma Venkataraman ein Geschenk und eine Girlande zum Dank für ihre unermüdliche Hilfe, mit der sie die Schule seit Jahren selbstlos unterstützt.

Im Anschluss wurden 5 Bindu-Artist-Diplome von den Gästen an jene StudentInnen überreicht, die seit 5 Jahren die Schule besuchen.

Nach den Feierlichkeiten wurden die StudentInnen zum Mittagessen im Gastgarten des Galerierestaurants eingeladen. Danach ruhten die bereits ermüdeten StudentInnen im Schatten der Bäume, machten ein Schläfchen oder tranken Tee.

Abschließend wurde die Meditations-Kugel, das Matri Mandir, angesehen und nach einer kleinen Jause ging es weiter nach Pondicheri, an die Stadtpromenade am Meer. Die StudentInnen genossen die Meeresluft, den Sonnenuntergang, Eiscreme und das spazieren auf der Promenade.

Bevor wir wieder zurück nach Bharatapuram fuhren, kauften einige noch kleine Geschenke für ihre Lieben zu Hause. Am Heimweg gab es ein Nachtmahl in einem Restaurant. Für jene die schon zu müde und bereits im Bus eingeschlafen waren, wurde das Essen eingepackt und mitgegeben. Die StudentInnen waren sehr zufrieden mit diesem Ausflug, den vielen Begegnungen und der erfolgreichen Ausstellung in Auroville.

Dieser Ausflug wurde wie auch in den Jahren zuvor von der österreicherin Karin Draxl gesponsert. Karin arbeitete über 4 Jahre in Chennai und übersiedelte nun beruflich nach Australien.
Wir danken ihr hier an dieser Stelle nochmals für ihre großzügigen finanziellen Unterstützungen und ihren ideellen Einsatz zum Wohl unserer MalstudentInnen.
